Business audit
We analyse your processes, identify what can be automated and give you a prioritised plan: what to do first, what next and what isn't worth touching. It's the entry-level service: it helps you decide with data rather than by guesswork. If you then hire a project from us, the audit fee is deducted in full.

You know there are things in your business that are done by hand and shouldn't be. What you don't know is which ones are worth it, which aren't and where to start. And signing up for a big project blind is daunting. The audit exists for exactly that: we get into how you operate, describe how it works today and give it back to you in writing, with the opportunities ordered by priority and the ones that aren't worth it marked as such. If we then work together, you don't pay for it.
What do we look at when we visit your business?
We start with how you really work, not how it's supposed to be. What comes in and through where: emails, calls, WhatsApp, paper coming back in the van. Who types the same data twice and in which two places. Where the enquiries that arrive out of hours get lost. What software you have, which you really use and whether they talk to each other or a person acts as the bridge. And how much of all that is held up by a spreadsheet that started out as temporary years ago. We're from the Campo de Gibraltar: if we need to go to the warehouse, the office or the shop to see it, we go.
What's in the report
Three parts. The processes we've looked at, described as they work today, with their manual steps and their bottlenecks. The opportunities found, each with what it would take to build and what it would change in your day-to-day. And a plan in order: what to do first, what can wait and what isn't worth touching. The order matters more than the list. It's better to start with something small and highly repetitive than with the big impressive thing, because you notice it straight away and it tells you whether this is heading the right way. The report is yours: if you don't carry on with us, you keep it.
Sometimes the conclusion is "don't automate this"
It's the part it suits us least to write. Some processes happen four times a month and take ten minutes: automating them means spending on something you won't notice. Others are already solved by an off-the-shelf tool for a subscription, and the honest thing is to tell you which one and have you buy it, not sell you a development. And some processes are broken: automating them doesn't fix them, it speeds up the mess. First you put it in order, then you automate. An audit where everything ends in "yes, and we'll build it for you too" isn't an audit: it's a quote in disguise.
If we then work together, you don't pay for the audit
The fee is deducted in full from the first project you hire us for. In full means all of it, not part of it. If we end up building something, the audit has cost you nothing. If not, you keep the report anyway and can carry it out yourself or take it to another provider. We do it this way because it forces us to be useful: if the audit were a product in its own right, it would suit us to drag it out and fill it with pages. Because it's deducted, the only thing that suits us is getting it right. We'll tell you what it costs on the call, once we know what needs looking at.
It's done by the people who would build it
We're not a consultancy that hands over a PDF and leaves. The audit is done by the same people who would write the code if you decide to go ahead, and that changes what ends up in the report. When whoever proposes it is the one who then has to deliver it, nobody writes "integrate the ERP with the CRM" as if it were a line on a slide: you have to check whether that ERP has an API, what it returns and what breaks when the data comes in odd. That check happens during the audit, not afterwards. That's why what you take away is a plan that can be built and not a wish list.
Who is it for, and who isn't it for?
If you already know exactly what you want to build (the WhatsApp assistant, the job-sheet app, the integration you're missing), you don't need an audit: you need a quote. Call us and we'll skip this step. The audit is for the opposite case: you notice things being done by hand that grate on you, but you don't know which ones are worth it or where to start. Nor do you need to be a big company: a two-person business has fewer processes, but it repeats the ones it has every day. Tell us about your case and we'll tell you whether we can do it, how we'd approach it and what it would cost. If it isn't for us, we'll tell you that too.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does an audit cost?
- It depends on how many processes need analysing and whether we need to visit more than one site. We'll tell you on the first call, once we know the size of what needs looking at, and before you commit to anything. What doesn't depend on anything: the fee is deducted in full from the first project you hire us for.
- What if you conclude there's nothing to automate?
- Then we tell you, and it's a valid conclusion: you've cleared up the doubt and haven't spent money on a project that wasn't going to help. And if something does turn up, it needn't be what you came looking for: it's common to ask for a chatbot and discover that what throws the day out is how delivery notes come in.
- Am I obliged to hire anything afterwards?
- No. The audit is delivered and that's where the obligation ends for both sides. The report is yours: you can carry it out yourself, give it to your IT person or ask another provider for a quote with it in hand. The full deduction on the first project is an option you have, not a commitment you sign.
- Does it disrupt the team much?
- A little, but yes, some: we need to talk to the person who does the task, not just the person in charge of it. Whoever suffers the bottleneck every day knows best where it is. The conversations are short, at their desk and without stopping anything, and we ask to see the process running rather than have it described to us.
How we work
01
Understand
We sit down with you and look at how you really work. We come away knowing what makes sense to build and, above all, what doesn't.
02
Build
We build it on the tools you already use and show it to you working, not in a slide deck.
03
Stay with you
We measure, we adjust and you can always reach us. Software isn't something you install and forget.
